St Vincent

In the photo above, Detective Curran is investigating the house described on the previous page, while standing in front of St. Vincent Catholic Church. In a subsequent scene, Curran chases Trammel by car around the corner and several blocks down Western Avenue. Trammel outruns the dective at Western and Petaluma Blvd. North, a frequently used filming location.

Roger Ebert gave the complex and gimmicky film a rating of two stars, a marginal rating at best. Basic Instinct was nominated for Academy Awards in the categories of Film Editing, and Music (original score). It received no awards.

The movie is 127 minutes long, and is rated R. It is widely available on DVD, including Netflix.
